PENNISETUM MESSIACUM
Attractive grass , perennial and semi-deciduous, of rapid growth, bushy, thick and roundish habit and of Asian origins: when fully grown it can exceed 80 cm in height and slightly less in width. Equipped with powerful and deep fasciculate roots which allow it to be perfectly anchored to the ground , it looks like a dense globular tuft formed by thin and very narrow leaves with smooth edges and acute apex, of a light green colour: these are initially erect, but curve upwards slightly out giving the plant an airy and fluffy appearance. Between late summer and autumn, numerous narrow feathery inflorescences rise up , swaying under the blows of the wind and supported by slender greenish stems, formed by very small pinkish-white flowers .
