Sculptural group depicting the Virgin, seated on the throne in a rigid frontal position, with her right hand outstretched and her left hand supporting the blessing Child resting on the left side The group underwent a heavy repainting on a new grouting in 1916 , losing much of its quality original. It falls within the typology of the Madonna enthroned with the Child, very common in Abruzzo and Molise . It is difficult to date due to the alteration of the stylistic features, which seem to reflect the taste of an artist from Molise or even from Abruzzo working between the end of the 14th and the first half of the 15th century. The Gothic inflections of the folds of the mantle, the hair parted on the forehead, bring it closer to the group of S. Maria di Canneto . It has individual characteristics compared to the Virgin and Child in the Church of S. Maria delle Grazie in Campochiaro . The sculpture has undergone tampering with the insertion of eyes in glass paste and the cutting of the wooden crown.
